LoveLula October 2019 Beauty Box

As part of the LoveLula Accredited Blogger Programme I receive the LoveLula Beauty Box*. I highly recommend the beauty box subscription – it’s only £14.95 per month and often the value of the products are more than double or even triple this amount (this month the products are worth £59). There’s always a good variety of different brands and products in the boxes, and everything is cruelty free (like all LoveLula products). The other thing I love about this beauty box subscription is you receive a voucher code to get 25% off purchases from the brands featured in the box that month which is great if you discover a product you love (or you want to try something else from the brand). So what was in the October box?

LoveLula October 2019 Beauty Box Items

Laidbare Pack Your Bags* (30ml, £7.99)

I’ve reviewed this on my blog before when I tried lots of Laidbare* products (I really like them!). The eye cream is one of the few eye creams I’ve tried that has an immediate effect of smoothing the skin around the eyes. It’s such good value and really does seem effective. I just can’t get used to using eye creams in my routine, but if I did I’m pretty sure this would be the one I would use and I would definitely recommend it.

Dr Botanicals Cocoa and Coconut Superfood Reviving Hydrating Mask* (30ml, £9.90)

We’ve had the Dr Botanicals Coffee Superfood Renewing Facial Exfoliator* before which I really love, so I was pleased to see this in the box. It’s a hydrating face mask but isn’t at all what I was expecting in terms of texture/consistency. It’s really thick white cream which doesn’t really sink in as I was expecting it to. It sits on the skin, and it seems to mattify the skin and when you wash it off your skin does feel very smooth. I really like it!

Balmonds Intensive Facial Oil

Balmond’s Intensive Facial Oil* (30ml, £22.00)

I’ve not come across this brand before so was looking forward to trying it out. It’s specifically for dry and sensitive skin and is a nourishing oil. Whilst this is designed to be used on the face, it can also be used elsewhere and I think would be good for dry skin on the body. As you can see from the photo, it’s a fairly clear oil with a light consistency (not too thick). The lavender scent is quite strong so I’ve been using this as a night oil and it’s working well. You only need a few drops and it does seem to really help to nourish the skin. My skin loves most face oils and this is no exception.

Seascape Island Apothecary Uplift Body Lotion* (300ml, £16.00)

We’ve had Seascape Island Apothecary* items a few times in previous boxes and to be honest I don’t usually tend to love them. However, I gave the body lotion a go and was very pleasantly surprised. The scent is OK (nothing bad, but I’m not usually a huge fan of the Seascape scents). The consistency is great though! It rubs into skin really nicely and leaves it feeling soft and smooth. It isn’t at all tacky and is definitely the sort of consistency I’d use. I hardly ever use body lotion, but if I did this would definitely be one I would enjoy using.

Mossa Glow Cocktail Illuminating Anti-Pigmentation Serum* (sample, full size is 25ml for £13.00)

I was expecting this to be an oil serum but it’s a cream. The scent is lovely (very fruity) and I enjoyed using it, but it’s not enough of a test to comment on the anti-pigmentation claims. I’ve previously tried a Mossa BB Cream* and that has a very similar scent. This is a brand I’d definitely like to try more of.

This month’s box was a pretty good box for me; I know some people prefer it when we get make up but I’m a skincare junkie so this suits me well. My favourite item is the Dr Botanicals Cocoa and Coconut Superfood Reviving Hydrating Mask* as that’s a new discovery and I’ll definitely be using it regularly. I’ve been receiving the LoveLula Beauty Box for almost two years now and I still absolutely love it; I’ve discovered so many great products and it’s such good value. You can subscribe to the LoveLula beauty box* in various different packages – I highly recommend it as it’s a highlight of my month!
