As part of the LoveLula Accredited Blogger Programme I receive the LoveLula Beauty Box*. I highly recommend the beauty box subscription – it’s only £14.95 per month and often the value of the products are more than double or even triple this amount (this month the products are worth £65). There’s always a good variety of different brands and products in the boxes, and everything is cruelty free (like all LoveLula products). The other thing I love about this beauty box subscription is you receive a voucher code to get 25% off purchases from the brands featured in the box that month which is great if you discover a product you love (or you want to try something else from the brand). So what was in the September box?
Mádara Infusion Vert Body Cream* (200ml, £17.00)
Mádara* feature fairly regularly in the beauty box, and I like them so I’m quite happy about this (and it also means you can use the 25% off for other Mádara products!). However, I don’t tend to use body lotions or creams as I prefer to use a moisturising product in the shower. So although I have tested this out, I’m unlikely to keep it for myself as it just won’t get used. It is a nice scent, and it absorbs well, so if I did use body creams I’m sure this would be one I’d enjoy using.
Balm Balm Little Miracle Cleanser* (30ml, £12.00)
I’ve always really enjoyed Balm Balm* products (though don’t seem to purchase them often, I’m not sure why and may have to take advantage of the offer this month!). The Little Miracle Cleanser is a new product from the brand and is part of the same range as the Little Miracle Rosehip Serum (which I love!). I have been intrigued by this cleanser and was so pleased to see it in the box. I was even more pleased when I used it; I love it! It’s an oil cleanser and in a spray bottle which is really unusual. It works amazingly though; you just spritz a few pumps into the palm of your hand and then rub it onto dry skin before rinsing with a warm cloth. I am really enjoying using it; it’s easy to use, enjoyable to apply, and my skin feels great after using it. It’s a really lovely gentle cleanser that I think would suit all skin types.
Emani Soy Mascara in “Midnight”* (10ml, £18.00)
I was pleased to see a mascara in the box this month; I’m more of a fan of skincare rather than make up but I do sometimes wear mascara and have been keen to try some Emani products. The Soy Mascara is designed to treat lashes as well as give them colour and definition. It’s suitable for sensitive eyes and claims to be smudgeproof. Sadly, I didn’t find it smudgeproof but I did really like the effect it gave my lashes and it lasted well until I rubbed my lashes (so it doesn’t seem to fall, but did smudge). I love the brush, though it seems to be a different one to the photo on the LoveLula website. The one I received is a plastic brush and is curved (both of which are features I like). I’d definitely recommend this and am choosing to wear it when I wear mascara but I wouldn’t say it was smudgeproof.
Kathleen Natural Tranquil Fields Bubble Bath* (150ml, £18.00)
I have the Kathleen Natural Tranquil Fields Body and Massage Oil* (which I think was in an earlier beauty box?), and this is the bubble bath of the same scent. I can’t decide if I like it or not; lavender is the strongest scent (which I’m not a fan of) but there’s also vanilla in there which I do like. I’m not very well today, so I took that as a good reason to have a nice bath with the bubble bath. I followed the instructions and used 3 capfuls which I added as the water was running and I stirred it with my hands. I’ll be honest, I was a bit disappointed by the result. It didn’t bubble much, and the scent wasn’t very strong. Having said that, I quite liked the fact it wasn’t too strong so in this case it’s not a bad thing as it wasn’t too overpowering. The lack of bubbles was a disappointment though, so I wouldn’t say this was anything special.
Urban Veda Reviving Body Wash* (200ml, £9.99)
I don’t usually love the Urban Veda body washes (I’ve had samples before) but this one was good. It left my skin feeling nourished and had a very pleasant scent. I didn’t love it enough to buy a full-sized one, but I did like it and it is good value.
This month’s box was a good box for me; two products I am really liking and two I feel so-so about. The stand out for me this month is the Balm Balm Little Miracle Cleanser* which I am loving and could well become a staple product for me. I’m also really liking the Emani Soy Mascara in “Midnight”* and am using this as my regular mascara (and am even wearing it more often!). I’ve been receiving the LoveLula Beauty Box for over a year now and I still absolutely love it; I’ve discovered so many great products and it’s such good value. You can subscribe to the LoveLula beauty box* in various different packages – I highly recommend it as it’s a highlight of my month!
