As part of the LoveLula Accredited Blogger Programme I receive the LoveLula Beauty Box*. I highly recommend the beauty box subscription – it’s only £14.95 per month and often the value of the products are more than double or even triple this amount (this month the products are worth £70!). There’s always a good variety of different brands and products in the boxes, and everything is cruelty free (like all LoveLula products). The other thing I love about this beauty box subscription is you receive a voucher code to get 25% off purchases from the brands featured in the box that month which is great if you discover a product you love (or you want to try something else from the brand).
Mádara Deep Moisture Gel* (50ml, £28.00)
I’m always pleased to see a Mádara item in the beauty box, and this one was an intriguing one. It’s designed for oily skin, and mine is more dry, but it does sometimes get shiny and as this gel promises deep hydration as well as controlling oil I thought it could be a good one for me. I was right! I’ve been using this most days for the last couple of weeks and I really like it. My skin tends to prefer gels to rich creams, and this is another example of that. It absorbs really well into my skin and helps hydrate and soften. And it definitely helps it stay shine-free. You only need a tiny amount too so as this is 50ml I think it will last ages! The only thing I don’t love about this is the scent. I’m not sure what it is about it but it’s just not something I particularly like – the initial scent is a little like bananas and it has a herbal quality to it. Fortunately the scent doesn’t linger 🙂
Inika Liquid Eyeliner – Black* (3.5ml, £19.00)
I’ve never mastered the art of eyeliner, and don’t tend to find it suits me as my eyes are hooded so it makes them look even smaller. I won’t be using this myself, but I’ve heard so many positive reviews of it and it’s an amazing item to get in the beauty box! I did have a look of the brush and it does have a very fine end which I can imagine is great for more precise application. I also tested it on the back of my hand and it’s a deep black shade (I’ve found some eyeliners are quite faded). So if you like liquid eyeliner and are looking for a deep black one with a fine brush, I think you’d love this.
Hurraw Lip Balm* (4.3g, £4.99)
I’ve had a Hurraw lip balm in the past (the Moon Night Treatment Balm*) and whilst I quite like them, I’m fussy with my lip balms and I don’t think these are anything special. They moisturise well, and they have nice scents, but they don’t last on the lips as long as I like my balms to last. We got a lip balm in last month’s box too which I’ve barely used, so this will be being passed to someone else.
Sarya Couture Makeup Organic Eyeshadow – Mocha* (3.5g, £17.80)
I very rarely wear eye makeup, but this is definitely the sort of thing I would wear. As the name suggests, it’s a deep brown shade but it also has hints of purple tone and gold shimmer to it which it my favourite sort of shade on my eyes. I’ve tested it on the back of my hand and it feels lovely and smooth and easy to blend, so I think I’ll like this. I haven’t tried it on my eyes yet, but I certainly will be doing next time I wear makeup. I’ve heard great things about Sarya; check out their full range of eyeshadows, lipsticks and makeup brushes at LoveLula* (and if you’re a beauty box subscriber you can get 25% off if you order by 10th April!).
Zuui Organic sample set – Flora Gradual Tan Body Lotion* (250ml, £26.95), Flora Gradual Tan Face Lotion* (60ml, £29.95), Flora Luminising Creme* (80ml, £22.50)
I’m really pleased these have been included in the box as I’m a fan of gradual tanning, and it’s the time of year when I start to think about adding a bit more colour to my skin. I haven’t tried these yet (and I’m a bit apprehensive about trying the body one as I’m not sure there’s enough for a full application!). I’m really looking forward to giving them a go – it’s great to have a more natural approach to tanning available 🙂
It was nice to get some different items in this month’s box, particularly a couple of makeup items. However, I’m definitely more of a skincare person so this box didn’t have loads for me. My favourite item was the Mádara Deep Moisture Gel* and that alone is worth more than the cost of the box. That’s what I love about this box in particular; it’s such amazing value! You can subscribe to the LoveLula beauty box* in various different packages – I highly recommend it as it’s a highlight of my month!
