Kathleen Natural Tonifying Mist* (150ml, £23.00)
I’ve heard a lot of great things about Kathleen but haven’t had the opportunity to try anything until I received this. I’m not a huge fan of spray toners… or so I thought. This has changed my mind! The idea with this toner is that it helps hydrate, soothe, heal and
The Castilian Soap Company Liquid Soap* (250ml, £8.00)
I actually bought one of these earlier in the month, as we’ve recently moved home and I wanted a nice new hand soap for the bathroom. Sadly, I’m not a huge fan of this soap. I got the fragrance free one in my box and bought the peppermint soap separately. I confess I haven’t tried the fragrance-free soap (but it doesn’t appeal as I prefer scented). I found the peppermint one a little drying for my skin, so will be passing these onto someone else to see if they’re better suited to them.
Inika Loose Mineral Blush – Blooming Nude* (3g, £23.00)
I love this! I have one already from an advent calendar last year and I really like how it’s such a natural flush. It’s quite a deep shade but you only need a tiny amount and it works as a sort of blush/bronzer for paler
Macho & Bling Face Scrub* (30ml, £6.50)
I do like a face scrub! This is a brand I haven’t come across before at all; they seem to be new to LoveLula. This one has large exfoliating particles but it’s quite a soft product so it doesn’t feel harsh at all. It has a lovely fruity scent and is very pleasant to use. I’ve got a few face scrubs on the go so I won’t be needing to purchase one for a while yet, but this is one I’d consider repurchasing and it’s a great price.
John Masters Sample Set
I have mixed views on John Masters from what I’ve tried before. I *love* their blood orange and vanilla body wash, but I’ve been a little disappointed by some of the hair products I’ve tried. Things might be changing
- Evening primrose shampoo for dry hair* – I was surprised to like this scent and it cleansed my hair well. It lathered up nicely and definitely helped my hair feel clean without it feeling too ‘squeaky’ clean. I’d like to try this again and on initial impressions would recommend it for dry hair.
- Lavender and avocado intensive conditioner* – I wasn’t so keen on the scent of this one, which definitely put me off it. It did seem
moisturisingbut I wouldn’t choose it because of the scent.
- Citrus and neroli detangler* – this one I loved! It seemed much lighter than I expected and I really liked the way it made my hair feel. Great smell too and another one I’d like to try again.
- Rose and apricot hair milk* – fairly strong rose scent to this one (I liked it as it’s a fresh rose scent, thanks to the addition of apricot I imagine). I found it very heavy on my hair though – it seemed to weigh it down and I needed to wash my hair again the next day as the roots felt full of product (I only used a small amount).
So I’d definitely try the shampoo and detangled
Overall this month’s box from LoveLula was a mixed box for me. I love the Kathleen toning mist*, and I like the Macho & Bling face scrub*. Not so keen on the hand wash, and I already have the blush. Despite that, I’m still happy with my box; I really like the fact that I get to try things I’ve not come across before and find some hidden gems – plus it is such good value. Often just one item (such as the Kathleen toning mist) is worth more than the price of the box which is amazing. You can subscribe to the LoveLula beauty box* in various different packages – I highly recommend it as receiving my box and testing new products is a highlight of my month!
